Specializations
Each player has a set of skills that fall under a certain branch of skills. These branches are known as Specalizations and determine the abilities that a character can use, as well as their talents. Specalizations generally reflect a character’s purpose aboard their ship.
Upon character creation a player is awarded a free specialization of their choice. This specialization is from one of the three main branches. The main branches follow a single general theme of abilities. Specalizations provides a player with class specific abilities, talents, and equipment, that might not be available to them otherwise.
The Main Branches:
Solider: This specialization focuses the most on physical attributes, talents, and gear. Ranging from a rock steady Krogan berserker, to a lithe and agile Asari sniper. Soilders are trained to handle better weaponry, and armor than the other classes. The Attributes of focus for a Soilder are Stamina, Strength, and Agility.
Adept: The adept is the primary casting Class most crews will have on hand. With the powerful ability to control Mass Effect fields with their mind, an Adept could easily send a krogan warrior hurtling away from them with just a though. Though they are lightly armored, and not as well equipped as soilders and Tehcnicians an Adept is never unarmed or defenseless. The Main stat of Adepts is Will, followed Closely by stamina to support Biotic implants which enhance their skills.
Technician: The second caster class, and final specialization of the three main branches. While not as devastating in the middle of a battle as Adepts Technicians shine by their own merits. Starting out with the impressive Omnitool talent, technicians begin with a versatility that outstrips most classes right off the back. As a formidable support class Technicians can enhance friendly devices and technology, disable enemy systems, and most importantly perform repairs on a ship! The stats that a Technician focuses on are Intelligence, and agility.
Hybrid Specs
When a member of a crew has properly matured and trained they are allowed to pick a hybrid specialization. A hybrid specialization is when a player is specialized in not one, but two specs, creating an entirely new class for themselves. Hybrid classes allows your charcter to learn talents and abilities from both specs, as well as hybrid talents from your new class.
Vanguard: (Soilder+Adept) Vanguards are feared for their high-risk, high-reward combat style, closing quickly on enemies and destroying them at short range with weapons and biotic abilities. They're granted The Biotic Charge Talent, one of the most powerful Biotic abilities in the game.
Infiltrator: (Soilder+Technician) Infiltrators are quick but fragile combatants that focus on locking their enemies down and killing them off quickly. They combine the tech savy of a Technician and the fire power of a soilder. They're granted the Tactical Cloak ability which makes sneak attacks effortless.
Sentinel: (Techician+Adept) Sentinels are support-focused characters, possessing biotic and tech abilities mostly focused around controlling the battlefield and keeping the squad alive. Combining  biotic, and tech talents they can counter most threats that they go up against. A sentinel is granted the Tech Armor talent, making them more durable than any other biotic.
Racial Specs:
The third and final specalization which a player can unlock comes about at Rank 3. This is the Racial spec. When a character is able to fully combine the skills they learned with their race, and the new ones they've acquired with their crew.
Certain specs may require different training in order to unlock them. Depending on that race's specific traditions, and training.
